Hailing from Bee County, Texas, I grew up trotting across brushy pastures and gathering Live Oak mots. I am the fifth-generation to live on our ranch and work in our family owned business that is comprised of a cow-calf operation and a custom backgrounding yard. With these two sectors of the agriculture industry at my finger tips, I learned many skills and lessons at a young age. My parents were adamant that I travel with them to industry meetings and conventions during my childhood and this has afforded me many connections. Through these connections I have garnered friendships and I am blessed to have great mentors that I learn from. The agriculture industry and ranching community is mighty and very tight-knit. It is truly one big family.
Refinement is a never ending process. Wanting to further my experience in journalism, I earned my bachelors in Agricultural Media and Communication from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas famously located 15 miles from the second largest canyon system in America, Palo Duro Canyon.
